Record a 60 second message of support for the Cranker. View our published vox pops here
We are still waiting to hear from the State Planning Commission about the next step in the development application assessment.
In the meantime, we have created a brand new letter campaign!
We are lobbying our elected members to intervene with a legislative change and policy update that will save the Cranker and also protect our other local sites of living cultural significance!
There are two ways you can share your photos with the campaign:
1) Upload your photos to this shared Google Folder here. It is important that you create a subfolder with the name of the photographer and if it is from a performance or gig, the name of the band/artist in the photos. No name = no photo credit! Once they have been uploaded, we will move them to a non-shared folder for campaign use.
2) Add your photos to the shared Google Photos album. Your Google Account name will be recorded as the photo credit.
By sharing your photos with us in either of these manners, you are licensing Save The Cranker to use them for any and all purposes, commercial and non-commercial, related to the campaign. Photo credit will be given when the name of the photographer is provided with the photo upload. No name = no photo credit!
We are still forming the wider working group for this campaign. If you have relevant skills or connections and would like to volunteer your time, please email us!
Wee Hur's development plan for the Cranker, Midnight Spaghetti, Roxie's, and Chateau Apollo at 188-196 Grenfell Street Adelaide was made available on 19 April 2024.
Our campaign's supporters submitted over 800 representations during the public consultation which closed on 10 May 2024.
Now, we have to wait for the next move from the State Planning Commission.
We have aligned our campaign with the current operation's preferred spelling; Cranker.
Old habits die hard, so if you search for Save The Cranka we've got you covered with email, webpage, and search engine redirections.
